Timing – 8 pm
Venue – Holkar Stadium, Indore.
Where to watch – Star Sports 1 and Star Sports 1 HD
Head to head – The two teams have played each other on 21 different
occasions in the past. KXIP have emerged winners on 12 occasions as
compared to RCB’s nine wins over them.
Team News:No changes are expected in the RCB playing 11. Although, they could slot in Quinton de Kock in place of Parthiv Patel, since he has returned from a short break away from the team. However, if this happens, Moeen Ali will have to be benched to accommodate another overseas player. Punjab could be tempted to leave out Axar Patel out of the playing 11, since he hasn’t made much impact this season. Marcus Stoinis could be slotted back into the team as Mujeeb Ur Rahman injured his bowling hand in the last match.
With RCB in dominating form in their recent games, they will be expected to come out on top of this one too. KXIP who have been over reliant on their openers Rahul and Gayle for runs will have to put in
a much improved performance to break their two match losing streak.
Betting odds: According to Oddscheker.com, the odds are placed at 21/20 for KXIP and 6/7 for RCB.
Holkar Stadium pitch report: The strip at Holkar Stadium is known to be batting friendly. The pacers do manage to find some bounce, as exhibited by Andre Russell in the previous game, but there isn’t much in the pitch for the spinners. With short boundaries and a quick outfield, we should be in for a high scoring encounter.
Moneycontrol Dream 11: KL Rahul (wk), V Kohli, AB de Villiers, M Vohra, C Gayle, de Grandhomme, R Ashwin, U Yadav, Y Chahal, A Tye and M Siraj.
Players to watch out for:
KL Rahul (KXIP) – The opener has been in sublime form for KXIP this season. He has posted scores of 84 not out, 95 not out and 66 in his previous three matches and is third on the leading run scorers charts with 537 runs from 11 games. KXIP will be hoping he gets his fourth consecutive fifty in today’s game.Umesh Yadav (RCB) – The pacer is RCB’s leading run scorer this season with 14 wickets to his name from just 11 games. He has been exceptionally lethal bowling in the powerplay overs and has picked up early wickets on numerous occasions this season. RCB will be hoping he can clean up the KXIP openers early.
